Community Panel Meeting 3rd November 2010

Thank you to all of you who braved the heavy rain to attend the November Inspiring Communities Community Panel Meeting.
It was held in the Encounter Room of the ACE Centre, and it was once again another great success.
It started with talks from Jackie Wilson and Jackie King, who are two of our role models.
They talked about their backgrounds and how they have achieved their potential and tackled barriers.
After a short break the group took part in fun activity based around the effect of alcohol on the body.
This included an arts based exercise where the group marked the parts of the body affected by alcohol on a life size drawing of one the IC young people.
The final section of the session involved making a selection of Christmas and Eid cards. Everyone was asked to make two cards. One was for them to take home with them, and the second was entered into a competition, where the winning cards will be reproduced and sent to all families and agencies who have been involved with Inspiring Communities so far.
