Spicy start!

We kicked off the role model programme last night with a meal at the Spice of India in Nelson. As a treat for the commitment of the role models who have come forward, we all enjoyed some amazing food, some for the first time trying indian cuisine. Sharon led some sort activities to explore our own role models, and what qualities they possessed to be the inspiration. These ranged from Bond to someone's dad! Please have a look at the photos to see some of responses. We have also begun signing up to dates during the coming year and also the creation of some short films, so look out for them!

Sharon Connery

I met with Sharon Connery last night to discuss her involement on I dared, Sharon as a wealth of experience working with young people. Sharon will be facilitating the meal tomorrow night where we will be bringing together the role models to talk about the project and have some great Indian food!

Role Models

On Tuesday 4th May, some of the Role Models kindly offered to be part of the branding campaign. Forsters based in London wanted to highlight some of 'real' people of Pendle who have something positive to offer young people in their community. We have developed a range of people for young people to older members of the community, all with a wealth of experience to share. We have people who have over come barriers to achieve, we have creative people who have chosen a different path and succeeded. We are trying to also find role modes that respond to the interests of the young people and their interests. If you know of a music journalist from Pendle please let us know.

Here are some of the photographs from the shoot, you may recognise some of the landmarks and maybe some of the people themselves. I didn't realise, after living here for so long, Colne is so beautiful!
